Csaba Rékassy

Csaba Rékassy (1937–1989)

Graphic artist, winner of the Munkácsy Mihály Award, Meritorious and Excellent Artist. György Kádár was his teacher at the Hungarian College of Fine Arts. He was one of the leading representatives of the great generation of Hungarian graphic artists that emerged in the 1960s, characterized by a reinterpretation of the meticulous style of the old masters, combined with magical realism. Together with his wife, graphic artist Margit Ágotha, they were regular members of the Szolnok Artists' Colony from the mid-1980s. His works are characterized by virtuosity and craftsmanship.
